Halloween may be over, but a celebration of the undead in
downtown Lansdale seeks to
keep the spirit alive for one more day.
Discover Lansdale has announced the details for this evening’s
Lansdale Zombie Walk, complete with a hearse parade, zombie bull riding, group
Thriller dance and more. Prizes for the contest categories have also been
released, and can be viewed below.

Food Drive for Manna on Main Street
Though free makeup will be provided in the staging area per
usual, organizers are asking everyone to bring at least one non-perishable item
for donation to Manna on Main Street.

Scheduled Event Timeline
Free makeup and staging of zombies and vehicles will occur
at 100 West Main Street from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- At 6:30 p.m., the zombies will push off collectively and
walk across West Main Street, down Madison Street to North Wood Street, then
take North Wood Street back to West Main Street, and West Main Street back to
Railroad Plaza. Essentially, the walk is a loop around the event space, which
ends back at Railroad Plaza. Walkers should only cross West Main Street once,
at the beginning of the walk. The rest is on Madison Street, and the Stove and
Tap side of West Main Street upon return.
- While the walk is underway, a parade of hearses and blood
covered police/military vehicles will make its way down West Main Street, and
stage back on Madison Street outside of Railroad Plaza.
- At 7 p.m., once the horde has arrived at Railroad Plaza,
they will jump right into the Thriller Dance portion of the event. With prep
and rehearsal time, this should take roughly 20 minutes.
- At 7:30 p.m., the Zombie Bull Riding competition will begin
on South Wood Street. This competition will be a series of elimination rounds,
and is expected to last 45-minutes to one hour.
- At 8:30 p.m., contest judging will begin at Railroad Plaza.
Aside from the Best Hearse category, which will be decided by votes, the
costume contests will be judged based on the volume of audience applause.
Ongoing Festivities
There will be a number of ongoing festivities throughout the
event space from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Those include:
- DJ Chris Evans at Railroad Plaza, along with themed lighting
and a mirror photo booth.
- The First Friday Beer Garden, featuring offerings from Round
Guys, Well Crafted, Free Will, Ten7, McAllister, Boardroom Spirits, Stone and
Key, and Cardinal Hollow, and music from DJ Tone Arm.
- Ax throwing at the intersection of West Main Street and
Susquehanna Avenue.
- Zombie Bull Riding at South Wood Street.
- Live performance from the Simplefires on South Wood Street.
Contest Prizes
The winners of each contest category will receive a variety
of prizes, including gift cards, merch and other fun offerings. Prizes are as
follows:
- Best Zombie -- $200 Montellas gift card, $200 tattoo gift
certificate courtesy of Tell-Tale Art Studios, one free vehicle inspection
(including emissions), courtesy of Cuce Auto, merch from the Lansdale Army Recruiting Station and Discover Lansdale, and a very large trophy to
commemorate the victory.
- Best Zombie Couple -- Free dinner for two at Ristorante
Toscano, merch from Boardroom Spirits, a $100 gift card and merch from Scent
and Sip, two free vehicle inspections (including emissions) from Cuce Auto,
merch from Discover Lansdale and Madison Station Apartments and a trophy.
- Best Zombie Kid (ages 7-17) -- Gift cards from Henning’s
Trains and Comic Zen, as well as Discover Lansdale merch and a trophy.
- Best Zombie Kid (ages 0-6) -- Gift cards from Henning’s
Trains and Comic Zen, as well as Discover Lansdale merch and a trophy.
- Best Hearse -- A prize package from Well Crafted Beer Co, a
free vehicle inspection (including emissions) from Cuce Auto, and merch from
Discover Lansdale.
- Zombie Bull Riding Contest – A $100 prize package from Round
Guys Brewing Co., along with Discover Lansdale merch and a trophy.
- Photo Scavenger Hunt – A $150 gift card prize package,
courtesy of Carlee Myers Personal Training.
Zombie Walk Deals
As with every year, local businesses tether deals for
participants in the Lansdale Zombie Walk. This year’s deals are as follows:
- Round Guys Brewing Co. – One free 6 ounce beer to anyone in
costume (must be 21+).
- Well Crafted Beer Co. - $1 off pints for anyone in costume
(must be 21+).
- Montellas Bar and Grill – 15-percent off of food for anyone
in costume, along with discounted, zombie-themed drinks.
