Souderton Police Warn of Phone Spoofing Scam

The Souderton Borough Police Department is alerting residents to a phone spoofing scam that involves the police department’s phone number.

In a release on Facebook, Souderton Police state that they have become aware of the scam, in which the caller “spoofs” the caller ID so it appears that the police department is making the call.

“If you receive a phone call from this number, please do not give any personal information,” reads the statement. “Ask for a police officer by name.”

Police are urging residents who may receive these calls to report them in person at the police station. Additionally, scam calls can be reported by calling 1-800-441-2555.
