Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint Leads to Four Arrests

(Note: the following is a release from the Hatfield Township Police Department.)

On May 17, The North Penn DUI Task Force conducted a sobriety checkpoint within Towamencin Township. The checkpoint was conducted along Sumneytown Pike, and the assisting agencies were Lower Salford Township, Hatfield Township, East Greenville Borough, and Franconia Township police departments. The Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corp also assisted.     

This checkpoint was conducted in a location where alcohol has been a significant factor in traffic arrests and contacts. As a result of this enforcement, four drivers were arrested for alcohol related DUI and one other was removed for testing.
