Car Strikes Pole on Whites Road in Lansdale

UPDATE: May 19, 9:18 p.m. - Sources have informed North Penn Now that the driver has been freed from the vehicle, and is uninjured. Multiple sources have stated that the driver was placed in handcuffs after being freed from the vehicle.

First responders are on the scene of a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Whites Road and Broad Street in Lansdale, after a vehicle reportedly struck a utility pole.

Crews were dispatched to the scene at 8:53 p.m. for a report of a vehicle striking a utility pole. Sources have informed North Penn Now that the driver is trapped in the overturned vehicle, wires are down and the pole is leaning.

Lansdale Police are currently on scene, along with units from the Fairmount Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Services Corps. The condition of the driver is currently unknown, and Whites Road has been shut down between Broad and Green Streets.
