Water Main Flushing in Upper Gwynedd Scheduled for Next Week

The North Wales Water Authority has announced that they will be flushing multiple areas of Upper Gwynedd beginning May 20 and ending May 24.

The water main flushing will occur between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The process may result in residents having discolored water, but the water authority states that the discoloration is expected and not harmful.

“Simply let the cold water run from your taps until it becomes clear,” said the water authority. “If possible, run water from a bath tub or other fixture without an aerator.”

The water authority undergoes system-wide flushing annually, in an effort to maintain the highest level of quality, according to their website.

“If problems persist, please call our customer service department at 215-699-4836 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Fridays,” said the water authority.
