A Lansdale man has entered a guilty plea to drug and weapons charges stemming from an incident in Montgomery Township in May 2018.
Brett Conville, 35, of the 300 block of Delaware Avenue, has been sentenced to two years of probation, and will have to surrender his firearm and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation as a result of his sentence, according to a report by Carl Hessler Jr. at the Pottstown Mercury.
The charges stem from a traffic stop that occurred on May 20, 2018, in Montgomery Township. According to the report, police observed a loaded handgun on the front passenger seat during the stop, and Conville did not have a valid license to carry a concealed firearm.
Police also seized a large bag of marijuana from the vehicle, along with Suboxone wrappers and opioid painkillers for which Conville did not have a prescription, the report states.
According to court documents, Conville was originally charged with one felony count of carrying a firearm without a license, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the plea agreement, he only plead guilty to one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of carrying a firearm without a license-no criminal violation.
