Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Green Street in Lansdale Wednesday Evening

A male pedestrian was struck by a reversing vehicle on Green Street in Lansdale on Wednesday evening.

Lansdale Borough Police were dispatched to the scene at 6:51 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. According to Lansdale Police Chief Michael Trail, a motorist driving a Nissan SUV made a wrong turn onto Green Street from Vine Street, and then attempted to reverse and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street.

Trail told North Penn Now that driver negligence was listed as the cause of the crash.

Witnesses at the scene stated that the impact caused a large dent in the rear of the Nissan, and a male victim had to be placed on a stretcher. The victim was then transported via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which Trail described as non-life threatening.

The victim’s current condition is unknown, and there is no word on if the driver will be charged. Trail said he will provide a follow up on Friday.
