Members of two area fire companies were dispatched to a field fire in Upper Gwynedd on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out in the field behind the homes on Gosling Drive at 2:22 p.m., and was sparked by track work on the Stony Creek Branch Railroad tracks, according to the Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department. Officials said that the fire was fanned by breezy wind conditions, but fortunately no property damage or injuries were reported. (See video here)
The Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department was aided on scene by members of the North Penn Volunteer Fire Company. Police from Upper Gwynedd Township thanked the members of the fire service for their quick response.
