Police Release Video of Attempted Armed Robbery Next to Police Station

The Telford Borough Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a male suspect who attempted to rob the Telford Convenience Store on Penn Avenue.

The incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 28, along the 100 block of Penn Avenue—right next to the Telford Borough Police Station. According to police, the suspect produced a knife from his pocket and grabbed at the store clerk in an attempt to obtain cash. The suspect then fled on foot when another patron entered the store.

Following the attempted armed robbery, a nearby middle school was placed on lockdown as police searched for the suspect. The lockdown was lifted roughly one hour later, once police determined that the suspect was no longer in the area.

The knife was recovered by police outside of the store.

The suspect is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic male, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall with a trimmed beard/goatee and wearing a black UFC hoodie and sunglasses. The suspect was also carrying a blue backpack.
