Liberty Vapor To Start Selling Vinyl Records

A local vaping business will soon expand their offerings to include a vinyl record shop in a section of its store.

Liberty Vapor, located on Madison Street in Lansdale, will be opening up a vinyl shop, called Liberty Vinyl, in the front of their store. They are hoping for a soft opening in a couple weeks and a grand opening on Apr. 13 for Record Store Day.

Though their vapor store is popular, co-founder Ron Roseman always wanted to expand to do more. He initially was thinking about selling collectibles, but changed his mind after talking to the store’s employees.

“The one thing me and all of our employees have in common is we all love music,” said Roseman.

Starting out, they will be focusing on selling primarily classic rock, punk and metal vinyls. They are also hoping to showcase music from local acts with the help of the Underground. As the store grows, they will expand their music selection to what the customers want to buy.

Roseman said that the process for being able to sell vinyls in the store has been relatively simple, since they already have their vapor store set up.

“We already have our business and retail licenses,” Roseman said. “We’re not waiting for anything. Once merchandise comes in, it just has to be entered into our stock and put on the shelves.”

For now, the vinyl shop will be in the front part of the vapor store. The vinyl section will be open to all ages. The vapor part of the store will be sectioned off so that only those over the age of 18 can enter that section of the store.

Liberty Vapor’s first store was opened in Phoenixville six years ago. They felt the need to expand, so they opened a store in Lansdale. For Roseman, it was an instant love, so much so that he decided to move to Lansdale. They have been in Lansdale for five years and also have stores in West Chester and Gilbertsville. However, the Lansdale store is their hub.
