Hatfield Police Continue Search for Accused Rapist

Hatfield Police are again requesting public assistance in locating a suspect who allegedly raped a woman in Hatfield Township during the early morning hours of June 8, 2018.

Oscar David Amaya-Salmeron, 28, has been charged with rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful restraint, loitering and prowling at night time in connection with the incident. Amaya-Salmeron is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his right arm and the right side of his chest, and works in construction trades, according to police.

“We are still seeking wanted person Oscar Amaya-Salmeron,” reads a release from the Hatfield Township Police Department. “Anyone with information on his current whereabouts is asked to contact us.”

Police reports indicate that during the early morning hours of June 8, Amaya-Salmeron allegedly sexually assaulted a woman along the 2100 block of East Vine Street in Hatfield Township. The victim, an adult woman, was reportedly walking home from an establishment in Hatfield Borough at the time of the incident. Amaya-Salmeron has not been seen since that time, and is believed to have fled the area.
