(UPDATED) Reports of Dwelling Fire on Walnut Street in Lansdale


UPDATED, March 1, 10:10 p.m. – Fairmount Fire Company officials report that the fire on the 900 block of Walnut Street in Lansdale, a small blaze in the walls of a residence, has been extinguished.
 
There were no injuries directly related to the fire; however, one firefighter was taken to Abington Hospital by ambulance for possible head injuries after a fall outside of the structure. The firefighter was not identified.
 
According to Assistant Chief Gavin Butler, the cause of the fire is still under investigation though nothing indicates suspicious origins. Neighbors said they saw heavy smoke coming from an area near the chimney.

Montco Alerts reports fire in the walls of a dwelling on the 900 block of Walnut Street, just south of Hatfield Street, in Lansdale Borough.
 
First responders from the Colmar Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company and Worcester Fire Company are on the scene or en route, with water hoses, along with the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale. No other details are currently available. Motorists should avoid the area.
