Heavy Smoke Reported at Zeigler Apple Cider Plant in Hatfield (Updated)

UPDATE March 1, 11:45 a.m. – The scene has been cleared, according to the Montco Department of Public Safety. No injuries have been reported, and no cause of the reports of smoke was specified.

Several area fire departments are responding to reports of heavy smoke coming from the Zeigler apple cider plant in Hatfield Township.

The Colmar Fire Company, the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, the Lansdale Volunteer Medical Service Corps and Hatfield Township Police are among those responding to the alarms at the Zeigler Beverage Company (a subsidiary of LiDestri Foods) at 1513 N. Broad St. in Hatfield Township.

Motorists should avoid the area. No injuries have been reported.
