A Telford man has been arrested on homicide by vehicle charges, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on County Line Road early Saturday morning.
Duane Michael Davis, 53, has been charged with felony counts of homicide by vehicle while DUI, accidents involving death or personal injury, and homicide by vehicle, as well as a misdemeanor count of DUI and summary counts of failure to stop and render aid, reckless driving and driving at safe speed, in connection with the investigation.
According to the Warrington Township Police Department, police were dispatched to County Line Road near the intersection with Upper State Road at 2:04 a.m. on June 22 for a report of a fatal hit and run crash. Police allege that Davis struck a pedestrian while driving under the influence of alcohol, then fled the scene.
The roadway was shutdown for nearly four hours due to the incident. Davis was later taken into custody at his home in Telford, the report states.
Davis was arraigned on June 22 by Magisterial District Judge Lisa Gaier, who set his bail at 10-percent of $500,000 cash. He was then remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail. His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Gaier on July 1 at 9:30 a.m.
The identity of the victim is being withheld by police, pending notification of their family.
