Towamencin Township Police have announced that they have recovered a credit card skimming device from the Royal Farms convenience store on Sumneytown Pike.
According to the release, the device was located inside the store—located along the 1700 block of Sumneytown Pike—at a self-checkout register. The release states that it’s a snap-over-style skimmer, and the suspect(s) had placed a Royal Farms sticker on the outer shell.
Police say that it’s unknown when the skimmer was put in place, but the wifi signal was nonexistent at the time the device was recovered. The release states that police have not yet heard from any victims related to the device.
Anyone with information about the device, or who may have fallen victim to it, is urged to contact the Towamencin Township Police Department at 215-368-7606 and reference incident number 2019-11228.
