A local Pennbrook alumnus was given the Pennbrook Mark of Distinction Award.
Ben Hartranft was given the award in early June. Hartranft is known for his autism advocacy work, particularly for his participation in raising money through the Eagles Autism Challenge.
Hartranft was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2. Back in October, he appeared on the Ellen Show, and Ellen and Shutterfly gave him $10,000 towards his Eagles Autism Challenge.
Last month, Hartranft teamed up with Boston Style Pizza in North Wales to help raise even for money for the Eagles Autism Challenge by having a Dine to Donate fundraiser, as well as Benergy In The Park.
The Pennbrook Mark of Distinction Award is given to Pennbrook and alumni who are distinguished in their chosen field and make a mark in their community. Recipients are nominated by someone in the North Penn community and are chosen based on the following criteria: Contributions to Society/Community; Character; Dedication to Pennbrook/North Penn Community; and Courage in the Face of Adversity.
