Search Continues for Missing Harleysville Man at Lake Nockamixon

The search continues for a missing Harleysville man whose boat was found abandoned at Lake Nockamixon early last week.

According to a report by Kayla Dwyer at The Morning Call, park officials discovered the abandoned boat of 43-year-old Gregory Nacios, of Harleysville, along with his personal belongings on June 4. The boat—which had the engine still running—was found near the dam in the southeastern part of the lake, and Nacios has not been heard from since.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has been heading a multi-agency search for Nacios over the past week, focusing on the area of the dam and Haycock Cove, according to reports. The search has been aided by the Ottsville Fire Company, who has conducted search operations every day since Nacios’ disappearance, along with units and dive teams from area fire companies and police departments.

Officials from the DCNR have asked the public to stay away from the area that is being searched. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 215-249-9191 or DCNR at 215-529-7300.

At 1450-acres, Nockamixon is the largest lake in Bucks County, and it serves as a popular destination for boating and fishermen.
