Members of three local fire companies are on the scene of a dwelling fire along the 1200 block of Sumneytown Pike in Towamencin.
According to sources, units were dispatched to the home at 4:16 p.m. for a report of a fire in a residential home. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fire in the basement of the home. External smoke is reportedly visible via a chimney in the home, but reports indicate the fire has been contained to the basement.
No injuries have been reported. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Units from Towamencin, North Penn and Fairmount fire companies are on the scene, along with Towamencin Police and the Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corps.
