With the June First Friday almost upon us, Discover Lansdale has announced the details and features of their second offering for 2019, dubbed the “First Friday International Food Fest.”
Guests are encouraged to bring their appetites to the event, as the food-themed First Friday will offer an array of food trucks, vendors, and of course, desserts. For the non-foodie types, or those still working on their summer bods, the event will also offer the staple features that guests have come to know and expect from Lansdale First Fridays.
Check out the categories below for more information on each location and activity. (Click here for the Facebook event page)
FOOD TRUCKS AND VENDORS
Organizers expect to have more than 10 food trucks throughout the event space, with another seven to eight food vendors on location.
Food trucks will include:
• Kona Ice and more
Food trucks will be lined up on Madison Street at Railroad Plaza, with another few near the intersection of Susquehanna and Main. Additionally, non-vehicle food vendors will be placed along South Wood Street, inside the beer garden and at Railroad Plaza, including Cuban sandwiches, curly fries, artisan breads, Wister’s Barbecue, Moshie’s Pickles and more.
ENTERTAINMENT
June First Friday will feature music at three locations: Hambone Relay on the stage at South Wood Street, DJ Chris Evans at Railroad Plaza and DJ Tone Arm at the beer garden. Music and performances will begin at each location at 6:30 p.m. and end around 9:30 p.m.
BEER GARDEN
The First Friday Pop-Up Beer Garden has bolstered its offerings for its second season, with an emphasis on more choice and more fun. The lineup for June includes beverages from Round Guys, Well Crafted, Free Will, Boardroom Spirits, Imprint and Ten7.
Additionally, there will be new tables and chairs, new lighting, corn-hole games, Giant Jenga and Wister’s Barbecue serving food. (Guests must be 21+ to drink, with identification.)
KID’S ZONE
The Kid’s Zone will be located at Railroad Plaza for the duration of the season, though offerings and activities will vary from month to month.
For June, the Kid’s Zone will feature two bounce houses, face painting by Lydia Cuce’, a cotton candy machine and the return of fan-favorite balloon artist Scott Myers.
PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT
A photo scavenger hunt has been added as a recurring activity for each First Friday in the 2019 season, with a winner being drawn at the end of each event.
Seven photos will be added to the Facebook event page in the days leading up to the event. To participate, you must be able to identify all seven locations, write them down (along with your name and contact info), and submit it at the Discover Lansdale booth at Railroad Plaza by 9 p.m.
A winner will then be drawn at random, who will receive a prize package from Round Guys Brewing worth upwards of $150. (Click here for more information)
