Driver Injured After Striking Building in Lansdale (UPDATED)

UPDATE: July 28, 7:45 p.m. - Sources tell North Penn Now that the driver of the vehicle was traveling from the auto parts store across the street, struck a street sign and a light pole at the entrance to the 709 Market parking lot, then fell out of the vehicle prior to the vehicle striking the storefront.

First responders are currently on the scene of a one-vehicle accident along the 100 block of North Wales Road in Lansdale.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 6:03 p.m. and involved a Ford pickup truck that drove into the 709 Market located at the intersection of North Wales Road and Barberry Drive. Sources tell North Penn Now that the driver struck the building, then stumbled and collapsed while exiting the vehicle.

The driver has reportedly sustained injuries, and is currently with emergency medical services personnel. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

Members of the Lansdale Borough Police Department, Fairmount Fire Company and Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corps are assisting at the scene.
