Warrington Township Police have announced the arrest of 22-year-old Derrick Carthon, following a cyber-tip that was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) earlier this month.
According to the release, police initiated an investigation into the possession and dissemination of child pornography within Warrington Township following the cyber-tip submission to the NCMEC. On July 24, police executed a search warrant at an undisclosed address within the township, and as a result of that search, Carthon was arrested and charged with felony counts of disseminating child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Carthon was arraigned on July 24 by Magisterial District Judge Maggie Snow, who set bail at 10-percent of $100,000 cash. He was then remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail.
His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Jean Seaman.
