Accused Drug Dealer Arrested for Second Time Since April: Police

A Mount Royal, NJ man has been arrested on drug charges by the Lansdale Borough Police Department for the second time since April.

According to the criminal complaint, police responded to the 200-block of West Main Street at 4:13 p.m. on July 14 for a report of a man who appeared to be under the influence. As police approached the man—identified as 38-year-old Domenic Caputo—they said he was slumped over and swaying, and nearly fell over into a flower bed, the report states.

The report states that Caputo was placed under arrest for public intoxication-drug related at 4:20 p.m. While placing Caputo under arrest, police allegedly found heroin, crack cocaine, a needle and $3,100 in cash in his pockets, according to the complaint. Inside his backpack, police found drug paraphernalia and a second cell phone, the report states.

As a result of the arrest, Caputo has been charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute, misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Caputo was arraigned by Magisterial District judge Ed Levine, who set bail at $5,000 cash. Caputo was then remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. in front of Judge Levine.

The July arrest is the second for Caputo since April. In an incident that occurred on April 1, Caputo was charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a summary charge of public drunkenness. Caputo then missed his preliminary hearing in early June, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

His next court appearance regarding the April arrest is a formal arraignment at the Montgomery County Courthouse on July 31 at 9:30 a.m.
