Towamencin Township Police have announced the closure of the Rittenhouse Road Bridge, between Old Forty Foot Road and Clemens Road.
The closure comes as a result of a vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon, in which the bridge was struck and sustained damage. The bridge will be closed until it can be examined for structural integrity and any necessary repairs are completed, according to the release.
Motorists are asked to plan ahead for the closure, and travel on an alternate route. No timetable has been provided for when the bridge will reopen.
