Lansdale Library To Host Recycling Event

This weekend, the Lansdale Library is teaming up with 611 Metals to host its 9th Annual Clean and Green Extravaganza.

The event is set to take place this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lansdale Library and will feature electronics recycling and document shredding. The event is free, but certain electronic items have a fee. Donations to support the library will be accepted.

Electronics such as desktop and laptop computers, dorm-sized fridges, window air conditioning units, computer equipment, cell phones, household batteries and other electronics can be recycled for free. There is a $20 recycling fee for old CRT computer monitors and a $5 fee for LCD monitors. TVs are not accepted.

Documents that reveal personal information will be accepted for shredding. The maximum amount of documents that can be shredded per person is five paper boxes or paper grocery bags (two trash bags or 10 plastic grocery bags).

In addition, there will also be items for sale by the library. Participants are also encouraged to browse the shelves for their summer enjoyment.

Blue Wave Express Car Wash is helping to support the library on Saturday by donating 50 percent of the Ultimate Wash to the library.
