Fairmount Fire Company Responds to Fire at Madison Lansdale Station Apartments

UPDATE: July 16, 4:50 p.m. - Sources have informed us that the initial fire occurred at 2:22 p.m., but at 3:34 p.m., members of the Towamencin Fire Company were dispatched for a second fire in the same building but at a different location.

UPDATE: July 16, 4:43 p.m. - Additional sources have told North Penn Now that EMS was on scene for two firefighters that suffered from heat exhaustion. We are awaiting official confirmation and details, which we expect later this evening.

Members of the Fairmount Fire Company are currently on the scene of a small fire inside Building C of the new Madison Lansdale Station apartment community.

According to reports, crews were dispatched to the 300 block of Madison Street  at 2:22 p.m. for a report of an electrical fire inside of a wall in one of the apartments. Sources indicate that upon arrival, the fire was out but there was smoke inside of the apartment. The extent of the damage is currently unknown.

Crews remain on scene at this time. Sources have stated that one or two firefighters requested medical attention for heat exhaustion, but we have not been able to corroborate that detail at this time.

Members of the Towamencin Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company and Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corps are assisting at the scene.
