Montgomery Township Police to Participate in Annual National Night Out at New Location

Join the Montgomery Township Police Department and The Goldenberg Group on August 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the annual National Night Out. This year’s event will be held at the Water Tower Square Shopping Center (near the Home Depot parking lot) at 751 Horsham Road, Lansdale, PA 19446.

National Night Out is an opportunity for communities nationwide to promote safety, police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie. With many different attractions for children and parents to choose from, this summer night guarantees to be one to remember.

This year’s event will include the following:

  • DJ , dancing, games, and     giveaways
  • Canine demonstrations
  • Police vehicles and fire     trucks
  • Light Refreshments
  • Special guests from the     local community:  Boy Scout Pack 229, Buy Buy Baby, Chick-fil-A,     Costco, Drug Addiction Resource Alliance, First Student, Home Depot,     Integrate for Good, Laurel House, Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center,     Montgomery County Health Department, North Wales Water, Office Max, Planet     Fitness, Police & Fire Credit Union, Quakertown National Bank, Rita’s     Italian Ice, Servpro, State Representative Todd Stephens Office, State     Senator Maria Collett’s Office, Texas Roadhouse, Univest Bank, Victim     Service Center of Montgomery County, World Market

The department is also running a coloring contest, and a collection for the North Penn Community Build-A-Bag program. 

Coloring Contest

Kids ages 3-12 are encouraged to color their most creative #NatTheKnight and submit it to Nicole Conicelli in the police department at [email protected] by  July 29  at 4 p.m.  Nat the Knight is the newly appointed mascot for National Night Out. All participants from each group will be entered into a drawing. The winner from each group will have their artwork displayed at National Night Out, and receive a surprise gift card.

The groups are as follows:

  • Ages     3-5
  • Ages 6-8
  • Ages     9-12
  • Special     Needs

North Penn Community Build-a-Bag

Please consider purchasing any of the following school supply items for the North Penn Community Build-A-Bag program. We will be collecting these items throughout the night.

Elementary School Supplies: Backpacks, binders, colored pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, erasers, folders, glue, notebooks, pencils, and scissors

Secondary School Supplies: Large backpacks, binders, dividers, erasers, folders, loose leaf paper, highlighters, notebooks, and pencils

National Night Out History

The National Association of Town Watch Executive Director, Matt Peskin, introduced National Night Out in 1984. That first year, 2.5 million Americans took part across 400 communities in 23 states.
