Man Accused of Stealing Car from Gas Station on Bethlehem Pike

Donald Strohm, 33, no fixed address.

Hilltown Township Police have announced the arrest of 33-year-old Donald Strohm, in connection with the theft of a vehicle from a gas station on Bethlehem Pike.

According to the release, police responded to the Sunoco A-Plus Gas Station located along the 1500 block of Bethlehem Pike on July 2 at 5:23 p.m. for a report of a vehicle theft. The victim told police that he left the keys to his Nissan Altima inside the vehicle while he went inside the store to make a purchase. When he returned, witnesses notified him that his vehicle had been stolen.

At 5:40 p.m., Quakertown Borough Police spotted the vehicle on Route 309, and—along with the Pennsylvania State Police—initiated a felony traffic stop. Police then took the suspect—identified as Strohm—into custody.

As a result of the incident, Strohm is facing felony charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage, who set bail at 10-percent of $75,000 cash. He was then remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail.

Strohm’s next court appearance is a preliminary hearing in front of Judge Armitage on Aug. 13 at 2:30 p.m.

(Editor's note: All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. Should the defendant choose to issue a public statement, or is later found not guilty or has the charges dropped, we will update this article accordingly.)
