An officer with the Warminster Township Police Department is being recognized for an act of heroism, after he saved the driver of a moving pickup truck that was having a seizure.
According to the release, Officer Ryan Bunda was on patrol in the area of County Line Road and Newtown Road on July 9 at 9:33 a.m., when he saw the passenger of a white Ford F-250 flagging him down. Bunda noticed that the driver appeared to be in convulsions, and attempted to stop the truck as it traveled at a slow speed through traffic. Bunda then exited his vehicle and ran towards the moving truck.
Once Bunda reached the truck, he could see that the driver was having an active seizure, the report states. With the truck headed towards traffic, Bunda was able to open the driver’s side door and apply the brakes with his left hand, bringing the vehicle to a stop.
With the assistance of a passing firefighter from Huntington Valley, Bunda was able to carry the driver to safety, where they called for medical assistance and rendered aid.
“Officer Bunda’s rapid and decisive actions, were both heroic and lifesaving,” said the Warminster Township Police Department. “Great Job, Officer Bunda, and thank you for your service.”
