Car Wash Fundraiser Scheduled for Local Boy with Bone Cancer

Saint Stan’s Church and the Catholic Youth Organization will host a car wash fundraiser on Saturday, with all proceeds going to the family of 12-year-old Will Albright, who is battling an aggressive form of bone cancer.

The event is scheduled for July 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will be held in the parking lot of the church. Special guests include multiple local officials, and organizers have also received assistance from Lansdale Borough Councilwoman Carrie Hawkins Charlton and Bergey’s Chevrolet.

Albright was recently diagnosed with the fast-spreading osteosarcoma, and wrapped up his fourth week of chemotherapy last week. His mother, Lynda Robbins Albright, has been posting frequent updates to her Facebook page regarding her son’s condition, and his older brother, Dan Robbins, has launched a GoFundMe in an effort to generate online donations.

“I'm here today asking for everyone's help, since insurance won’t cover everything and the hospital bills will be piling up along with other bills,” said Robbins, via the GoFundMe page. “I'm hoping this will help to take some of the stress from my family during this rough time. It is a long road ahead with chemo and surgeries, so all that being said we are beyond grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers.”
