Motorcyclist Airlifted Following Crash on Bethlehem Pike

Emergency personnel are currently on the scene of a motorcycle accident on Bethlehem Pike near the intersection with Unionville Pike in Hatfield Township.

According to sources, the incident occurred at 4 p.m., and upon arrival, first responders found the driver of the motorcycle lying face down in the middle of the road. Reports describe the victim as a 40-to-50-year old male, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Sources tell North Penn Now that the victim sustained head trauma and other injuries, and was airlifted from the scene. Portions of the road have been shut down due to the incident, and motorists are asked to avoid the area.

The cause of the accident is currently unknown.

Units from the Hatfield Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company, Perseverance Fire Company and Hatfield Township Police assisted at the scene.
