Upper Gwynedd Township Police Promote One to Sergeant, One to Deputy Chief

The Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department has announced the promotion of two of its long-time members on Monday morning.

According to the release, Detective Ray Royds has been promoted to Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant Ted Caiola has been promoted to Deputy Chief. Royds has been with the department since 2001, and Caiola has been with the department since 1999, according to the release.

Caiola’s promotion will help ensure the continuity of command, as current Deputy Chief David Poirier is retiring at the end of the year, police said.

The release offered congratulations to Royds and Caiola on their promotions.
