Woman Stabs Husband in Stomach, Charged with Aggravated Assault: Police

A Lansdale woman is facing charges after she allegedly stabbed her husband during an argument at their home early Saturday morning.

According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to the 700 block of West Third Street in Lansdale at 1:26 a.m. on June 29 for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police encountered the victim on the porch, who had suffered a stab wound to the right side of his stomach, along with a bite mark on his upper-right arm, the report states.

The victim told police that he and his wife—identified as 58-year-old Donna Fry—had been drinking and having a good time until they started verbally arguing, the report states. Fry then physically attacked the victim, then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him, the report states.

Police located the knife in a drawer in the kitchen, which was identified by the victim as the one Fry used to stab him, the report states. The knife had been washed off prior to police arrival, according to the report.

The criminal complaint quotes Fry as stating that she did in fact stab her husband, but added that he kept going after her and she didn’t know what else to do. Fry stated that she wanted the victim to “back off her,” and that she did not actually go after him, the report states.

As a result of the incident, Donna Fry has been charged with one felony count of aggravated assault, misdemeanor counts of possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct-engaging in fight, and a summary charge of harassment.

Fry was arraigned on June 29 by Magisterial District Judge Marc Alfarano, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured. She was then released from custody.

Her next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on July 12 at 9:30 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of the injury, and is expected to make a full recovery.
