Man Stabbed in Lansdale, Attacker Still At Large

Police are cautioning residents in the area of the Broadmore Apartment Complex to be on alert of suspicious activity, following a stabbing that occurred on Friday night.

According to the release from the Lansdale Borough Police Department, police responded to the 600 block of South Broad Street at 7:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. The victim—a 45-year-old male— informed police that he was stabbed in the back as he was entering the M Building of the apartment complex.

A search of the area—including assistance from a K-9 unit from the Whitemarsh Township Police Department—revealed a person of interest, but no arrest has been made and the investigation is ongoing. The attacker is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches tall, a thin build and wearing a dark winter coat and wool hat.

Police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 9-1-1.

“We need the public to be vigilant until this suspect is taken into custody,” said Michael Trail, Lansdale Borough Police Chief.

The victim has since been released from the hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery.
