One of Lansdale’s hidden gems was honored during Wednesday night’s borough council meeting, as The Oasis was named Lansdale’s Business of the Month for January by the economic development committee.

Located at 821 West Main Street, The Oasis specializes in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and pastries, including offerings such as hummus, tabbouleh, grape leaves, shawarmas, kabobs and falafels. The shop is open for lunch and dinner everyday except Sunday’s and a handful of holidays, and their warm and inviting atmosphere has made them a favorite place for locals to dine-in.

“Having dinner there is like going to dinner at your friend’s house,” said Rege McKenzie, of the Lansdale Borough Economic Development Committee. “Allow a little more time than normal for dinner as everything is made fresh.”

In addition to their restaurant offerings, they also offer take-out and catering. The restaurant is BYOB.

The Oasis is owned and operated by Wadih and Micheline Habib, who launched the business in 1985. The husband and wife duo were not present to accept the award on Wednesday night, as they were busy serving their customers. They will be formally presented with the award at their restaurant in the next week or two.
