Lansdale Man Sentenced To Jail For Institutional Sexual Assault

A Lansdale man was sentenced to jail after admitting he had sexual contact with a patient at a Whitemarsh mental health facility, where he used to work.

According to The Mercury, Jerral Beamon, 35, will spend three to 23 months in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, following a plea agreement. Beamon pleaded guilty to a felony charge of institutional sexual assault for incidents that took place in October and November of 2017 at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital, where he was employed as a mental health technician.

Judge Steven T. O’Neill is allowing Beamon to serve his sentence over consecutive weekends beginning Jan. 25 and ordered Beamon to complete four years of probation after his parole. Beamon must also undergo a psychosexual evaluation and follow through with treatment recommendations.

The investigation of the case began on Nov. 11, 2017, when police responded to a patient’s report that she was sexually assaulted by an employee, identified as Beamon. Those incidents include Beamon asking the patient for her phone number so they could hook up outside of the hospital, asking on numerous accounts to see her naked, and having sexual contact on several occasions with the patient.
