GoFundMe Created for Lansdale Family Displaced by Fire

Following a devastating fire on Christmas in Lansdale, a family friend of Scott Hettel and Melissa Bell has set up a GoFundMe to help the family out.

The fundraiser, started on Dec. 28, has already raised over $100. The money will be given to the family to help them rebuild their lives after they lost their home—located along Fairview Avenue—and family dog in a fire on Dec. 25. Their home was ruled inhabitable and they were displaced.

The fire took place shortly after 6 p.m. on Christmas. There were no human injuries as Bell and Hettel were away at the time of the fire, but their family dog was killed in the fire. Multiple area fire companies responded to the incident.

The family stayed at a relative’s house the evening the fire took place and they are reportedly staying at a hotel for the near future. The family is working with their insurance to try to figure out where to go from here.
