A Harleysville-based business will be expanding into Lansdale later this year.
Small Batch Kitchen will be opening in Lansdale this summer, along the 700 block of West Main Street, in the former location of Swirled Peace. According to owner Sheila Rhodes Delp, she is hoping to open the store in mid-June and have a grand opening celebration the second weekend in July.
When they were considering expanding, Lansdale seemed like the perfect spot. Delp’s first apartment after college was in Lansdale, and she said she has always loved the borough. Small Batch Kitchen has even held a spot at the Lansdale Farmers’ Market.
“When we were looking to expand our business, Lansdale was a natural fit,” said Delp.
The Lansdale location will include the company’s full line of products, including their popular low-sugar jams and jellies. They will also have a café that serves soups, salads and sandwiches. The store will also feature products from other businesses. Delp said she wants it to be like a farmers’ market that is indoors and open all year.
“We really hope to have a place where people can come eat food made by others in the community,” said Delp.
