A North Penn swimming coach was honored as 2017-2018 Coach of the Year for Girls Swimming and Diving by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaches Association.
Coach Jeff Faikish was specifically nominated for the honor by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
Faikish graduated from North Penn High School and was a swimmer. He has been involved with the North Penn aquatics program in some capacity for 26 years.
Faikish has been the head coach of the girls swim team since 2013. Under his leadership, the team has competed in seven state championship meets and earned the PA State Title this past fall. He is also the head coach of the boys swim team, which boasts similar prestige.
“It is our pleasure to recognize leaders and role models at the interscholastic level,” said Dr. Karrisa L. Niehoff, Executive Director of NFHS.
