Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Hatfield

Hatfield Township Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday evening, which resulted in a pedestrian being airlifted from the scene.

According to police, the accident occurred at approximately 6:18 p.m. near the intersection of Orvilla Road and Schwab Road in Hatfield. Once on scene, police discovered that a 2016 Nissan Maxima had struck a male pedestrian while traveling eastbound near the railroad crossing. The release states that the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street from south to north, and walked direction in front of the vehicle.

The victim sustained injuries as a result of the crash, and was airlifted from the scene via JeffSTAT to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia for treatment. The extent of the victims injuries, as well as his current condition, is currently unknown.

Hatfield Township Police were assisted at the scene by the Hatfield Fire Company, Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corps, JeffSTAT and Colmar Fire Police. The Hatfield Township Police Department’s Highway Safety Unit is continuing their investigation into the crash.
