A fugitive from California was taken into custody in Lansdale on Monday morning, following a warrant service executed by the Lansdale Borough Police Department and the U. S. Marshals Service.
According to the press release, police and members of the U.S. Marshals executed the warrant at an apartment along the unit block of East Main Street on Dec. 16 at 8:07 a.m., in search of a fugitive named Phillip Harp, who is wanted in California on attempted murder charges. Police located Harp on the first floor of the apartment building, and he was taken into custody without incident, the release states.
Harp was arraigned as a fugitive from justice before Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine, who set his bail at $100,000 cash. Harp was then transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail, and he is currently awaiting extradition back to California.
Police did not provide any other details regarding the pending charges in California.
