Multi-Instrumentalist Shannon Murphy and Her Effect on the Lansdale Music Scene

This week, I’ve decided to highlight local multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, Shannon Murphy and her presence in the Lansdale music scene. Over the past year, since I’ve been managing The Underground by Round Guys Brewing Company, Shannon has continued to surprise me with her talent and dedication to the area scene. I first learned of Shannon through a local favorite duo and sometimes full band, Pulling Daisies, with another local musician, Tina Baer.

In Pulling Daisies, Shannon not only plays keys, but also guitar and sings. She is also a member and keys player in the local rock/reggae band Stateside. In early November, Shannon, along with Pulling Daisies partner Tina Baer, played an integral part in planning a fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at The Underground. Along with assisting in planning, she also ran live sound for the event!

I’m pretty sure there’s nothing in the music industry that will get the best of Shannon, she’s all in. The Underground and Lansdale sincerely appreciate her skills on both sides of the stage. She is a constant driving creative force who motivates and lifts up those around her. She has become a very strong presence at The Underground and in the Lansdale music scene and we’re all looking forward to seeing more of her in the future!

You can see Shannon performing with Stateside on Friday night, 12/13, along with Kidboy, Truant Minds, Black Hole Dialogue and another Lansdale favorite, Big Handsome. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are available online. This show is presented by 215 Booking.
