Sen. Mensch Congratulates Henning’s Trains on 80th Anniversary

Pennsylvania State Senator Bob Mensch made a stop in Lansdale on Tuesday morning, in order to officially congratulate Henning’s Trains on their 80th Anniversary of operations within the borough.

Mensch presented Harry and Bill Henning with a Citation of Congratulations, which reads in full:

Whereas, The Senate of Pennsylvania takes great pride in recognizing those businesses which, through adherence to the highest standards of service, contribute in a meaningful way toward a better and more productive society; and

Whereas, Henning’ Trains is celebrating the momentous occasion of its eightieth anniversary; and

Whereas, Established in 1939 by Harry Henning Sr., Henning’s Trains sells and repairs classic and new model trains. An authorized Lionel Dealer and Service Center, the store carries its own line of Collector Color paint to match the colors of original model trains and many parts, accessories and literature about the model train hobby. Throughout its history, Henning’s Trains has served its clients with grace and distinction, and it has truly become an integral part of the Lansdale community and this Commonwealth.

Now therefore, the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania congratulates Henning’s Trains upon its richly deserved recognition; extends warmest wishes for a future replete with ever-increasing success;

And directs that a copy of this document, sponsored by Senator Bob Mensch, be transmitted to Henning’s Trains, 128 South Line Street, Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

“I appreciated the opportunity to present a citation to Harry and Bill Henning at Henning’s Trains,” said Mensch. “Congratulations to the Henning family for their remarkable achievement.”

Henning’s Trains, located at 128 South Line Street, is a family owned, brick-and-mortar model railroad store that has been serving the community since 1939. Founded by Harry Henning Sr. prior to World War II, the shop is now owned and operated by Harry Henning Jr, with the help of his son, Bill Henning.

“Our family really appreciated our visit by Senator Mensch and receiving the citation of congratulations for our 80th Anniversary,” said Bill Henning. “A hobby shop used to be a very common site in every town, but with today's on-line shopping world, they have become a rare breed. I am proud of the effort and dedication our family and employees put in each day to go against the odds to make this unique business work. I am sure my grandfather, Harry Henning Sr., is smiling down on us.”
