Crews Working to Free Man Trapped Under Vehicle in Hatfield

UPDATE: Aug. 24, 11:08 a.m. - The rescue is complete. Members of the Hatfield Fire Company reportedly used air bags to lift the vehicle and free the man. The victim is now in the care of emergency services personnel.

Multiple fire companies are responding to an incident in Hatfield Township, in which a man became trapped underneath a vehicle that he was working on.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at 10:50 a.m. near the intersection of Elroy Road and Hertford Drive. Sources tell North Penn Now that the vehicle that the man was working on collapsed, trapping his legs beneath.

The victim has reportedly sustained injuries to his lower extremities as a result of the incident.

Hatfield Township Police Department is being assisted at the scene by crews from Hatfield, Towamencin and Fairmount fire companies.
