Beginning today, North Line Street in Hatfield Township will be closed for four-to-six weeks as crews work to correct a failing storm water culvert under the road.
According to officials, the road will be closed from Cowpath Road in Hatfield to East Seventh Street in Lansdale Borough. Despite the closure, the release states that local residents will still have access, and hospital patients and employees will be able to access Abington Lansdale Hospital on Medical Campus Drive by approaching from Cowpath Road.
Detours will be posted, which will push North Line Street traffic to North Broad Street via East Seventh Street and Cowpath Road.
On the Lansdale portion of Line Street, the road received a temporary repaving on Aug. 9 from East Seventh Street to East Main Street, in an effort to provide a smoother surface for motorists until the contractor can finish the road.
Official said the contractor is obligated to finish the work on the Lansdale portion of the road by November 2019.
