Towamencin Township Police are investigating a vehicle accident that occurred late Tuesday morning, which resulted in a teen victim being taken via ambulance to the hospital.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of South Valley Forge and Allentown roads. Towamencin Township Police Chief Tim Dickinson said that the incident involved a vehicle striking a 15-year-old male on a bicycle.
Sources told North Penn Now that the teen suffered a lower extremity injury, though Dickinson added that the injuries were not expected to be life threatening. Police said the victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital, and is expected to recover.
Witnesses at the scene described the bicycle as “as completely wedged under the front of the vehicle,” and as a result of the crash, the vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Dickinson added that the investigation is ongoing, and no additional information would be available until the investigation is complete.
Units from the Towamencin Township Police Department and Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corps assisted at the scene.
