Profile: Conte Hair in Montgomery Township

A new hair salon has opened in Montgomery Township, offering a variety of standard and unique services that can meet the needs of customers regardless of their type of hair.

Conte Hair—located at 981 North Wales Road, in between Pep Boys and Wawa—boasts a staff of five with more than 120 years of combined experience in the field, and offers a variety of services including haircuts, coloring, hair treatment, styles for special occasions and even permanent wave.

“We’ve imported permanent wave machines from South Korea, and we’re the only business in the area that offers this service,” said 31-year-old Ethan Lee, who owns the hair studio with his wife, Jessica Kang. “We are experts in permanent wave, as well as Brazilian straight perms and Japanese magic perms.”

Lee, a North Penn High School graduate and longtime Lansdale resident, held a grand opening for Conte Hair several weeks ago, and the initial response to their new business has exceeded even his own expectations. That response is evident when viewing their listings on Yelp and Google, both of which currently stand at five stars.

Lee said that opening a new business in his hometown area was important, as he loves to support small, locally owned businesses and he hopes the community will do the same.

“When we support local businesses, we’re not just supporting the business itself; we’re supporting the families of the owner and their employees,” said Lee. “I make money to raise and take care of my family. By supporting other local businesses, I’m ensuring that the community where we reside stays strong.”

Lee spoke glowingly of his staff and their expertise, adding that their friendly personalities add to the comfortable setting of his salon. Those staff members include:

  • Jessica, who has 15 years of experience in cuts, coloring, permanent wave and hair treatments
  • Ivy, who has 21 years of experience and specializes in coloring
  • Annie, who has 33 years of experience in cuts, permanent wave and hair treatments
  • Mia, who has 10 years of experience specializing in cuts and permanent wave
  • Sook, who has 40 years of experience in all areas

Lee said that Conte Hair is looking to add talented stylists to his staff, so interest parties should reach out to them via their Facebook page.

The salon is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., but Lee added that later appointments can be scheduled when needed. Conte Hair is also currently offering 20-percent off of all services, as they build their customer base.

“We are highly trained and have a lot of experience,” said Lee. “Once you try us, I’m sure you will fall in love with us! Even If you just want to stop by and say hello, that is totally fine with us. We love our community, and we’re happy to be a part of it.”
