UPDATE: April 19, 10:36 a.m. - Court records indicate that Shapcott was bailed out earlier this morning.
According to the release, police responded to an incident along the 200 block of Union Street in Hatfield Borough on April 16. The investigation revealed that Shapcott negligently discharged one round from a handgun, which exited the wall of her residence and struck a house across the street, according to the report.
No one was injured during the incident.
Shapcott was arrested on April 18, and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Juanita Price on felony charges of discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, carrying a firearm without a license and recklessly endangering another person. She was then taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post $5,000 cash bail.
Shapcott’s next court appearance is a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. on May 2 in front of Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine.
