Crews Battle Dumpster Fire in Upper Gwynedd on Tuesday Afternoon

Members of the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department battled a large dumpster fire on Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, crews were dispatched to the 200-block of Wissahickon Ave around 1 p.m. for a report of a fire. Upon arrival, firefighters made quick work of the blaze, engaging and containing it within the 30-yard dumpster. No injuries were reported, and crews were on scene for roughly one hour.

The Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department was assisted on scene by fire police from the North Penn Fire Company, as well as a backhoe from Upper Gwynedd Township that was used to clear debris and ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
