Police Release Details in Vehicle Crash at Giant Supermarket

Montgomery Township Police have released the details of a single-vehicle accident that led to an overturned car and an injured driver on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at 9:27 a.m. along the 1200-block of Knapp Road. According to Lieutenant Gerald Dougherty of the Montgomery Township Police Department, the driver of the vehicle reached to his right to grab a plant that was sitting in the front seat, and the vehicle then struck a curb and a tree before overturning in the parking lot.

The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated by members of the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, and he was then taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to Dougherty.

Members of the Montgomery Township Police Department, North Penn Volunteer Fire Company and Lansdale Volunteer Medical Services Corps assisted at the scene.
