Man Pleads Guilty to Texting Intimate Photos of Former Girlfriend to Others

A 20-year-old man is heading to prison after pleading guilty to charges of stalking and unlawful dissemination of intimate images.

According to a report by Carl Hessler Jr. at the Pottstown Mercury, Joshua McNichol, of Delaware, will serve 1-to-23-months in county jail, plus another five years of probation upon release, as a result of his plea. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in July 2018, following a breakup between McNichol and his girlfriend who lived in Upper Gwynedd.

The report states that the investigation began on July 18, 2018, when a woman contacted the Upper Gwynedd Police Department to report that McNichol had sent four sexually-explicit text messages to her 17-year-old stepson, which contained images of his older sister. Those texts followed an earlier conversation between McNichol and the boy, in which the boy told McNichol to leave his sister and him alone, according to the report.

In addition to the sentence, McNichol was also ordered to have no further contact with his ex-girlfriend or her brother.
